Classic HB Globes are available in Black Magnetite, Paradise White and White Acrylic finishes and are the most popular of our globes and the most sold in galleries. Every one is unique and its folded and imperfect form is dictated by the teak root bowl from which it is carved.
They are available in diameters of 20cm, 25cm, 30cm, 40cm and, rarely, 50cm to 70cm, depending on the availability of sufficiently large teak root bowls.
Black Magnetite
The classic black is made with magnetite from the west coast of Bali. The continent parts are left natural to show beautiful wood grain patterns such as burls, collections of tree cells or callus tissue.
Paradise White
The classic paradise white is made with white quartz of Bali. The continent parts are left natural to show beautiful wood grain patterns such as burls, collections of tree cells or callus tissue.
Classic White Acrylic
The classic white is hand-carved the same way as the classic black magnetite and paradise white to form the globe. Finished with 150 layers acrylic white resin applied one after another, repeated until the oceans reach the same level as the continents. Takes 14-60 days to finish.
